Compression™
Pressure from hands and/or a weighted blanket or weighted objects causes an internal pressure response in the body and stimulation of afferent nerves. This activates the valve system of the body, which supports increased fluid flow, fascia hydration, homeostatic pressure, and an overall uptick in the appropriate functioning of the nervous system.

Ashley is fantastic, specific and patient while guiding me through this new way of moving. I'm more aware and in tune with what my body is doing and have the tools to correct my old sympathetic ways. As a former dancer, I'm totally shocked this is the first time I'm learning these concepts- concepts every person should know. I'm getting thoroughly educated!!!”

“I've spent most of my life working with different mind/body modalities -- yoga, meditation, dance, somatic experiencing, weightlifting, traditional therapy. Nothing comes close to the Fajardo Method™ in terms of the way I now understand my human experience, my relationships, my body, and my vitality.
The theory behind this work is fascinating, and the practices themselves are powerful and endlessly fascinating too. I've become so much more aware of how my body really moves, even when it's resting. You don't know what you don't know! I've also become more socially aware and confident in work, dating, and friendships because of the way my nervous system and senses are showing up differently.
Working with Ashley has been absolutely pivotal to my progress and ongoing interest in the Fajardo Method™. She has an unbelievably nuanced and clear way of talking about the concepts, and sessions with her fly by. She's very instinctive about what might be helpful to me, so is able to both drive a session or adapt to my requests if I come to her with something specific. She really feels like a partner when I have an issue, question, or need, and we work on it together. For example, I wanted to start lifting weights, and Ashley creates totally custom sessions to help me lift weights with biomechanical movement patterns (which feels great compared to the stressful weightlifting I was doing before).
It feels good not to be alone in my process, and Ashley provides a new angle to the Fajardo Method™ teachings that really deepen my understanding of the main curriculum.
We work together on Zoom and have done in-person work as well --- both are extremely effective. Ashley's also fun and has great humor and energy. I always feel better after working with her and look forward to our weekly sessions.”

“My husband and I had such a special experience working with Ashley on lessons for our first dance at our wedding.
As a student of the Fajardo Method™, I knew our dance would feel the most present and connected if we incorporated principles of nervous system awareness into our movement, and Ashley taught us movement that was clear to follow, romantic and sweet, and simple while having a big impact. I am not a dancer and I found her intuitive to follow and loved so many pieces of advice and feedback she offered that helped us have relaxed, fun, and intimate moments together, which was our hope! We had a wardrobe malfunction on the day, which limited certain movements but the style in which she taught us was so flexible and fluid that we were able to adapt without any anxiety or issues whatsoever. Her teaching and the movements we learned really lent themselves to that. We had so much fun working with her that my husband commented we should have another lesson or something similar - I would recommend working with Ashley either for a special event or just for fun connecting with your partner, to anyone and everyone!”
